From the East to the West and back East again
I went to Los Angeles last week..stayed with my dear friend Robin, who is my constant reminder as to why I am in this industry. It's easy to let life overwhelm us..especially actors..this is the one occupation that forces a person to have another occupation in order to have the career he/she really want. Make sense?
I guess it's obvious why I went..why most actors go. That's where the action is...all of it..daytime, primetime, lifetime...it's all out there.
So I went, like others, to showcase my talent with hopes that some ..maybe two...might see something in me..in my talent..my package..what I bring to the table..and they did..not all..but some. I'll be returning soon...but more on that later.
I wanted to share my latest news...A PERFECT FIT (a short film I shot a few weeks ago that was a part of the 48Hour Film Festival). I was blessed to work with a very talented cast and crew! The cool part about the whote thing. Our film won the Audience Award in the "Super Hero" genre!! Check it out. A Perfect Fit

not-so-sleepy-update
My sleeping pattern is off these days..I've been taking naps at the end of my work days...long naps...then I stay up late and go to bed late..and then it starts all over again.
A friend said it's unhealthy. So now I feel unhealthy. ugh
Updates:
I'm going to LA for a showcase. I've been cast in a short film that is a part of the 48 hour film project. I teach at CP Casting the last weekend in April.
That's it.
I'm out.

It's been too long..
I know. I haven't updated this in almost a year. I should be ashamed...but let's face it, who is really keeping track.
I'm still teaching at CP Casting and NEMG. I've opened my own studio, AB Studio for Acting located in Historic Lower Mills (Dorchester/Milton line).
For more info on that, email me.
In other news, I'm not a movie star yet.

I have had a lot of these this week, both big and small...personally, and professionally. They are not always easy to accept. This has been a tough week, but I've had some really fun auditions which is always a wonderful high...most recently with Actors Shakespeare Project for their 08/09 season. I was emotionally charged after the audition, which I'm not sure if that is always a good thing...but I was present in the room and had some nice discoveries. I hope the auditors enjoyed it.
I'm on the schedule for CP twice in June..Tuesday nights and Saturday afternoons. Hope to fill the classes. Later gaters.

THE STRUT SONG (click on link, then scroll down to UNSIGNED ARTISTS, then click on #3 CHRISSY)
I wrote it with local Producer Dow Brain of Underground Productions. It's gotten over 1.2 million hits on the site. The more people that listen, the more people love it.
The official release is the end of June. Lots of remixes are in the works. I'm psyched! Enjoy it..send it to your friends and family!

Tis the Season
I haven't updated you all so here's a quick synopsis.
I worked with the fun theatre company
SHAKESPEARE NOW!
in their fall production of HAMLET. I played Rosencranz, along
side the cute Angie Jepson (Guildenstern). The show closed
November 19th! It was great fun
I can be seen in a variety of KIDSTAGE shows over at the
Boston Childrens Museum. Come check us out. The space is gorgeous (they renovated last year)!
I continue to seek more fun roles. I'm enjoying the downtime this
holiday season has given me. No shows. I'm still teaching
students privately, as well as CP Casting. The next two
classes for CP Casting are scheduled to begin the second week of
January!
Happy Holidays to all who visit my site.

Summertime and the livin' is easy
Okay. So, I'm studying with amazing actors/instructors in a an Auditioning for Shakespeare workshop at Actors Shakespeare Project (http://www.actorsshakespeareproject.org/) in Harvard Square. It's been incredibly fulfilling so far, and I'm thrilled with the other talent in class.
Also, I'm proud to announce that I'm a part of a fun troop of actors over at the Boston Children's Museum KIDSTAGE. The 3 Little Pigs is what we'll be performing if you come see me. Bring the kiddies. Make a day of it!

AND THEN THERE WERE NONE...and two other things.
Exciting news.
I'll be playing the role of Vera Claythorne in Stoneham Theatre's production of Agatha Christie's AND THEN THERE WERE NONE. You can get more info at http://www.stonehamtheatre.org/
Also, I'm taking a voice over class with Maura Tighe of Maura Tighe Casting. She's direct and honest. NY style. I like her and highly recommend studying with her.
I auditioned recently for a day player role on Showtime's BROTHERHHOD being shot in RI. LDI is casting day player roles. Keep fingers crossed.
Happy Spring!

My new faves!
Have you seen the show BIG LOVE? How about the film DIRTY FILTHY LOVE? No, I'm not getting on a love theme..but I think you should hip yourself to both amazing peices of work.
I say this because I have two new favorite actresses whose work I am sure to watch and who give performances that make Meryl stop in her tracks.
Check out Shirley Henderson, a UK actress, in the indie film DIRTY FILTHY LOVE. It's at any video store or netflicks. She gives a kick ass performance. And I love her voice.
HBO's BIG LOVE is filled with amazing actors..and I won't begin to name them..just a woman who is also my top five fave. She plays Bill's Mother, LOIS HENRICKSON. Her name is Grace Zabriskie. You all have seen her over the years. She's been working for a while, mostly in front of the camera. Google her. My friend Rob House showed me her reel that he found on line. Very cool.

Smack That
I'm still teaching at CP Casting in Boston on the weekends. Kids ranging from 7 to 17. Recently, when I asked my younger group recently "what's your favorite song?" ...they replied "Smack That." They then proceeded to sing it. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I wasn't expecting that. So we all sang Smack That in class in order to hear the rhythm....rhythm in music...rhythm in text. Same thing.

"Have you all got amnesia"? Cathy Bates as Annie Wilkes in MISERY
Well, it's a cold Wednesday in January...and I think I may be ill today...which is strange because I'm never ill. I will carry on though
For those of you that don't know, this is also the heighth of pilot season! That means lots of on camera auditions...no major ones yet, but I'm taking an on camera class right now with Paul Schnee of Hopkins, Smith & Barden. They're based in NYC and cast a lot of feature films. He's really great. I highly recommend him.
I had a screening for BALANCE the other night. It's the short that Britta and I shot in October. It looks beautiful. There are some minor tchnical difficulties with the sound, and I think it for sure needs a re edit, but it was really great to get the honest feedback from the audience.
Dow will be scoring the music for the film when it is finally done. I'm excited! That's all for now. Oh yeah, go check out my reel page! It's FINALLY up.
Happy Holidays!
I knew you'd be back. I kept teasing you about the new shots. Well, they're on here. Thank you Rob House. Shout out to Rob on this not-so-cold Christmas Eve. You can check out Rob's own website at www.roberthouse.com
So, about these new shots..am still fine tuning the site, but that's me...so enjoy. I'll be adding my reel, along with other shorts I've done in the past year. Those of you that don't know, I co-produced and co-wrote a few of them with of course the brilliant mind of Britta Potthoff. Gotta love the German horse! We're in post production with the short we shot in October, so stay tuned for that.
Oh, biggup to Dowbrilla for producing a Christmas cd filled with soul, gospel and jazz influences and lead vocals by Mr. Ray Greene. I saw you guys on Liz Walker.
I never write stuff like this. But it's about time for Amnesia display her affection.
Merry Holidays and Be Grateful.
Always.
