Anastasia Barnes is a native of Massachusetts. After graduating from University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1996 with a BA in English Lit and a Minor in Theatre Performance, she moved to Boston. In 1998, Anastasia became involved in the Boston theatre scene, performing at various venues such as Boston Center for the Arts, Boston Playwrights Theatre, and Theatre CoOperative. She began studying on-screen acting at CP Casting under the guidance of Peter Kelley. With a hunger for the big city, Anastasia relocated to New York in the fall of 2002. There, she continued her studies with some of New York's finest teachers: Wynn Handman, June Stein, and Joanna Merlin. Anastasia was also blessed to study with one of the most sought after Film Acting coaches in the industry, Bob Krakower. She has studied at Upright Citizens Brigade ,The Actors Center, and The Michael Chekhov Acting Studio in NYC. While in NY, she landed roles in a national commercial for Time Warner, a principal role in Hazelwood Films'
American Wake and was cast in Off-Off Broadway plays such as The Puerto Rican Travelling Theatre Company's production of T. Cat Ford's
Roar! Lion's Roar! and Immigrant Theatre Company's production of Jovanka Bach's
Name Day. Anastasia returned to New England in early fall of 2005, where she studied filmmaking at the New Filmmakers Workshop at the internationally acclaimed THE WORKSHOPS at Rockport College in Rockport, Maine. Shortly thereafter, she left for Buenos Aires, where she co-produced, co-wrote, and starred in a short called
El Colectivo and co-produced a documentary called
Solamente Un Vendedor with her talented German creative partner, Britta Potthoff. In the Spring of 2006, Anastasia was cast in a recurring role as Lisa in the CBS episodic
Waterfront. Waterfront shut down production after five shows

but there's no stoppin' Amnesia, since then she has been active within the Boston Theatre Circuit :)...oh and teaching
Acting on Film to kids at CP Casting. She continues to write music for film and television with the most talented Producer in Boston, her best friend, Dow. He is a constant light in her life and gives a tremendous amount of support. She thanks him a lot.
